In China one source of harm to human health and the environment is the continuous visible and invisible pollution by heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and other chemicals that results from weak laws, lax enforcement, and the strong voice of the chemical industry. An additional harm is the social marginalization of pollution victims.
